Negotiation Service

Note: You must purchase our 2nd opinion service here prior to requesting the Negotiation Service.

What we do:

Upon completion of your 2nd Opinion transaction, if you would like us to negotiate the price, we will do the following:

1. We will contact the repair facility with our quote and attempt to negotiate their services down to within 10% of our estimate. Upon receipt of a new "lower" quote in writing - we will contact you with the good news.

3. Finally, if we are unable to negotiate the price lower, we will contact a preferred repair facility and will determine if the cost to release your vehicle from the "high priced" repair facility in addition to the towing and new cost of repair justifies having the vehicle moved.

You should provide the repair facility with written authorization that we are able to negotiate on your behalf.

Please note on your email any information provided to you by the repair facility as well as your contact information.

Most Common Questions

What are my guarantees?
AutoRepairEQuote.com guarantees you will save at least $100 off of your repair bill or you will receive a full refund of your Negotiation Services only. This guarantee only applies if we are unable to negotiate the costs of your repairs down $100 or more or we are unable to locate a reputable repair facility in your area to conduct the repair for less. Guarantee does not apply to the 2nd opinion fees. Please allow up to ten days to process a refund.

What do you mean by "high priced"? We work diligently to obtain a fair estimate of repair. If a facility charges more than 10% higher than our estimate, our opinion is they are high priced.

Why do you require customers to purchase the 2nd opinion service first?
We require you purchase the 2nd opinion service first primarily so you can determine whether it is worth your investment in our services. If our 2nd opinion comes within 10% of the quote provided by your repair facility, it doesn't always make sense for us to  negotiate their service. If you do not purchase the 2nd opinion - our money back guarantee on our negotiation services is non refundable.

Why do we use the word estimate? There are many reasons why we say estimate. You see, the national billing guides states how long a typical mechanic takes to accomplish the work in the right environment, with the right tools and experience. Above average technicians will be able to complete the job in as quick as half the time. While below average techs may take up to twice as long. Accordingly, we must estimate the amount of time it will take to complete the work; however, this estimate is by a nationally recognized source for billable hours.

How do you arrive at a local parts cost?
"local cost" is the estimated cost of a particular item from the distributor nearest that repair facility. One should allow for a 10% variance in the cost of parts.

How do you arrive at Billable Labor Hours?
"billable labor hours" will be derived from nationally recognized sources (i.e. Mitchell Repair & Estimating Guide). Typically sources are the same reference material used by dealerships and national repair facilities.

What is a fair labor rate and how do you arrive at your estimate?
We research states to determine the average pay being offered for the type of mechanic required to conduct the repairs you seek. Since operating a large repair facility is costly, the amount paid to an employee is not what you will pay. Therefore, the estimation of pay is then factored via a common multiplier wherein we ascertain a fair labor rate. Typically this rate is within 10% of labor rates charged by repair facilities .
